Add a POP3 account in Windows Live Mail 2011

• Click on Accounts, then Email
• Enter your email address as provided by us
• Enter your password as provided by us
• Enter your name (the name you wish people to see when they receive an email from you)
• Click Next
• Server type: POP
• Below that:
• Server address: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
• Port: 995
• Add a tick in Requires a secure connection (SSL)
• Authenticate using: Clear text
• Logon user name: your email address as provided by us
• Outgoing server information (top right)
• Server address: mx1.sitehost.co.nz
• Port: 465
• Add a tick for Requires a secure connection (SSL) and Requires authentication
• Click Next, then Finish

The following step is very important!

Windows Live mail by default will leave a copy of all your mail online. We need to change this as we do not have an unlimited storage capacity.

You will see your new account on the left in Windows Live mail.

• Right-click on the account name and select "Properties"
• Switch to the Advanced tab
• Untick the Leave a copy of messages on server option
• Click Apply and then OK
